THE DOGS OF DOOM HOWL AND MOAN...
This week we find the illustrious doom-lord EARTHDOG back in action. He hooks up with fellow canines DOOMDOGS from Sweden and gets the lowdown on their fuzzed out heavy doom metal/stoner rock action. Guitarist CHRISTER CUNAT howls and growls about the Doomdogs' latest and greatest album "Unleash The Truth" and lets all you dog-lovers out there know just what these metal-crazed mutts have been up to. More good interview news. I just journeyed beyond the black hole and grabbed a chat with sci-fi thrashers VEKTOR. Both ABSU and BRUTAL TRUTH are in the pipe and I can also say that we are working on interviews with German power metal gods PRIMAL FEAR and former BLACK SABBATH vocalist TONY MARTIN! Plus we got a shot at BLACK COBRA and WISHBONE ASH. So things are hopping on that front.

ILDM THANKSGIVING BASH 2011 WRAP-UP!
Every year for the last 6 years, I, Dr. Abner Mality, have ventured into the wilds of rural Northern Illinois and made my way to the Rock Hollow Gun Club for an annual ritual of feasting, beer and metal: the ILDM Thanksgiving Bash! This festive event serves as both a get-together for the ILDM and their supporters and a way to raise money for the Toys for Tots charity. I take an extra-deep look at the goings on this year, including sets from EN MASSE, LINCOLN LOVE LOG, MUTILATED BY ZOMBIES and BOLOGNA LIPS, amongst others. WORMWOOD CHRONICLES' HIGHLIGHTS (or lowlights) OF 2011
It was quite the momentous year for Wormwood Chronicles in 2011 and The Wormcrew made some significant strides in conquering the known universe. Now is the time for I, Dr. Abner Mality, to take stock of the year that was and list some of the notable achievements that stand out.
*Faces are always coming and going, but this year saw the biggest acquisition of talent in Wormwood's history. Yes, there are souls reckless and repulsive enough to join this organization. We made some huge additions to the staff with the likes of LORD RANDALL (veteran scribe well known for many endeavors), OCTOPI MILLS the keeper of elder secrets, PROFESSOR JOCKO the Harley-riding renegade academic rocker and THE SUN JESTER, cosmic joker and lover of all things Purple. These guys added a lot to the zine and we hope they stick around for a long time!!!
*Interviews are always a big part of Wormwood and we had some great ones this year. Among the personal highlights for me were talking to the crafty KING FOWLEY of DECEASED, the highly controversial but nevertheless thoroughly charismatic DAVID VINCENT of MORBID ANGEL, the even MORE controversial and utterly British METATRON from metal templars THE MEADS OF ASPHODEL, and finally, none other than the Scumdog of Scumdogs, ODERUS URUNGUS of GWAR. Not to mention, I got to speak to DEATH ANGEL, MACABRE and WITHERED...
*Those were just MY interviews! Here are some of the other ones:

* We also had some heavy activity in the PHILM PHREAK section, including a look at the local Rockford slasher movie "RAYMOND DID IT!", a tribute to Peter Cushing, another heartfelt tribute to the late DAVID F. FRIEDMAN and an insane look at the film "ZARDOZ"!!!
*It was another slow year for our wrestling section "Over the Top Rope", but we did manage a look at NWA HOLLYWOOD and a live review of FCW's WRESTLEROCK card. Look for more activity on the wrestling front in 2012!
*The Wormwood Files delved once more into the weird and paranormal with articles on THE TATZELWURM, the mysterious death of ZIGMUND ADAMSKI, the doleful PROPHETS OF DOOM and the second part of my article on FLYING FREAKS!
* The Wormwood Archives continued to fill up every day, thanks to ceaseless toil. Well over 2000 separate entries have been made and I can announce with great excitement that we are closing in on the end! Look for the Archives to finally be complete in early 2012, possibly in February! We will have a grand total of over 3000 ARTICLES, INTERVIEWS & REVIEWS covering the entire 13 year history of the Wormwood Chronicles when this is all done.
Yes, those were just some of the highlights for 2011, but I'm hoping 2012 will bring us even more success. SCIENCE MARCHES ON!!!!
WORMWOOD ENDS 2011 WITH A VISIT FROM SKELETONWITCH!
We bid a fond farewell to 2011 with a boot in the ass and also an interview with guitarist SCOTT HEDRICK of the ravaging SKELETONWITCH! This band is one of the most furious and acclaimed in the American metal scene and are known for being some of the hardest traveling road warriors around. Mr. Hedrick gives us some pointers on the Witch's new album "Forever Abomination" and the secrets to the band's success. Get all the inside dope right HERE!

The latest edition of the Wormwood Files finds me on the lookout for gigantic mystery creatures of the skies...monster birds, living pterodactyls, behemoth bats! We travel from the relative cosiness of the American Midwest (some of the most infamous sightings have been made just a few miles from my laboratory!) to the swampy jungle hell of the Congo and the island of Java. As always, we're working on all sorts of interesting projects here at WC. MORE GWAR-RORISTIC INSANITY WITH ODERUS URUNGUS!!!
There's more Gwar-themed lunacy this week from Wormwood Chronicles! Last week, I gave a blow by blow description of what a live GWAR show was really like. This week, I get to talk to the nefarious ringmaster of this nightmare circus, ODERUS URUNGUS himself. Yep, Dr. Mality meets Oderus Urungus (aka Dave Brockie) in this irreverent and highly offensive interview where Oderus describes GWAR's attempts to spread their brand to film and comics, their dangerous boat excursion and their many diverse influences. It's a great way to cap off the holiday season and it's all right HERE!
We have an extra large Torture Chamber this week and a really eclectic one as well. Musically, we move from atmospheric black metal to straight up 70's rock to bone-breaking death metal...we even toss in an example of TROMBONE METAL!
Wormwood Chronicles kicks off the first of two weeks focusing on the Scumdogs of the Universe, GWAR, with my in-depth look at their ruthless live assault at the Rave in Milwaukee on the cusp of Halloween night. I get down in the trenches and wind up soaked with the blood, semen and other unmentionable body fluids of ODERUS URUNGUS and his band of mutants. This concert was especially poignant because it was literally one of the last shows of COREY SMOOT, aka FLATTUS MAXIMUS, before his tragic demise.
